About us

Research-Aid Networks works to bridge the gap that exists between research science, community-based organizations and the general public. We do so by working with scientists, partner organizations, and communities around the world during acute and protracted crises, from epidemics to natural disasters and climate change, where proper understanding is critical for taking effective action. This way, the information needed to help prevent harm to lives and livelihoods can be accessed and implemented by all.

We have found that mission-based networking can also broadly assist organizations, especially new and small organizations, individual actors and non-formally-registered community-based organizations, enabling effective, research-informed actions. As such, we develop and support individual projects and collaborations, while also developing and facilitating mission-based networks of researchers, communities, community-based and -assisting organizations and individuals.

While most of our work is through collaborations with partner organizations, when we identify unmet needs we will work to provide information or resources directly to the public, as we have done and continue to do in response to COVID-19.

For example, whenever it is clear to us that specific research knowledge is needed, but missing from the field, we will contribute to and/or initiate research studies, such as we are currently doing in response to COVID-19 pandemic, and more specifically on the topic of Long Covid (or Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19; PASC).

Research-Aid Networks also works with policymakers from around the world who seek to have a better understanding of scientific matters, so that they can make more informed decisions that will help to protect people, communities and the environment.

In all we do, we endeavor to bring the needed scientific knowledge, resources and expertise to communities around the world. This helps empower communities and individuals to better respond to crises themselves and changes the system of humanitarian aid from community engagement and accountability to true community-led responses.
"We have been working with Research Aid Networks since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have hugely benefited from this partnership through very much appreciated practical support and also collaboration on research projects and academic papers.

The resources they provide, in terms of the knowledge and experience of the core team and their extensive library of academic research, are invaluable.."
