We started Pandemic-Aid Networks several years ago when we saw an opportunity to support and strengthen the impacts of a diverse range of community-based pandemic action and advocacy groups.
Over the years many of these groups have grown, increasing their capacity to help others but also enabling them to get a seat at the political table where the impact of their advocacy can have broad effects. These groups are often now the expert groups and have far less need for our scientific and research support. We also have seen that the topics that these groups have worked on, from air filtration to post-viral illnesses, encompass for more than the COVID-19 pandemic or even pandemic preparedness in a whole.
As such, we are now discontinuing Pandemic-Aid Networks, but we will continue to support our existing partners and to advocate for these critical interventions and actions, beyond COVID-19. Our focus, as Research-Aid Networks, remains, as it always has been, on bridging the gap between research science and community action and we look forward to working with new and existing partners on a range of topics in the coming years.
